CULLOWHEE (AP) — An autopsy has found that a football player who died during his first preseason workout at Western Carolina University suffered complications from an enlarged heart.

Ja'Quayvin Smalls died in July, hours after collapsing while running. The junior defensive back from Wando, S.C., had just transferred from Georgia Military College.

Sophomore Carly Seymour earned All-America honors as the Duke University cross country women's and men's teams finished the 2009 season Monday at the NCAA Championships, hosted by Indiana State University.

N.C. State offensive coordinator Dana Bible has been diagnosed with leukemia and won't coach the Wolfpack's season finale against No. 23 North Carolina.

Head coach Tom O'Brien said Bible will remain in a Chapel Hill cancer center for 30 days of treatment. The school said Bible has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.

Bible didn't travel with the Wolfpack in last weekend's loss at Virginia Tech and also will miss this weekend's season finale against No. 23 North Carolina. O'Brien says the 56-year-old Bible will be hospitalized for 30 days of treatment.
