The Greensboro City Council will hold an emergency meeting at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the homicides that have occurred over the past two weeks, including three that happened over the weekend.
Police Chief Tim Bellamy will give the council an update on his departments efforts to stem the crime wave.
The meeting will be held at City Hall at 300 W. Washington St.
The three weekend killings brought the total for the year to 30, three higher than the total for 2006.
The first eight days of December saw seven homicides in Greensboro.
