CHAPEL HILL — Four people from Greensboro face charges after an armed robbery early Wednesday morning in Chapel Hill. One of the suspects was shot.
About 2:28 a.m. Wednesday, Chapel police said officers responded to 118 Fan Branch Lane after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The victims reported that they returned home to discover three intruders in the residence, according to a news release.
Two of the victims struggled with the suspects, and one suspect's handgun discharged. The suspects fled in a vehicle and were later stopped by Carrboro police officers.
Officers found that Jaquay Lamar Blacknall, 18, of 3203 Bach Terrace in Greensboro, had been shot in the leg. He is being treated at UNC Hospitals and will be charged with armed robbery when released, police said. He is in fair condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said
Patrick Cole Clark, 17, of 3708 Hazel Lane in Greensboro, and Ryan Craig Gartrell, 18, of 5122 Southwind Road in Greensboro, were both charged with armed robbery and felony breaking and entering. Both are being held in the Orange County jail on bonds of $200,000.
Taumafalofi Leasiolagi, 18, of 2201 Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro, was charged with armed robbery. He remains in the Orange County jail on a $200,000 bond.
