GREENSBORO — The Greensboro Historical Museum is set to launch a multimillion-dollar renovation of its building and exhibits to better tell the story of the city and its people, officials said Wednesday.
The museum has come a long way since its founding in 1924, but it doesn’t really tell the entire story of Greensboro, said Jim Slaughter, president of the museum’s board.
"All you have to do is walk around the museum to realize it’s time to have some work done," he said. The underlying idea, curators said, is to make the museum more relevant to visitors by incorporating more voices and using a more personal perspective.
