Suspicious fire damages home

JULIAN — Deputies investigating a burglar alarm early this morning found something inside a house in southeastern Guilford County.

It wasn't a burglar. It was a fire.

No one was hurt in the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the two-story home at 7196 Bobby Jean Road. No one was home when the fire broke out. The burglar alarm call came in about 1:30 a.m. today.

The Julian, Kimesville and Southeast fire departments responded to the fire call.

The fire has been ruled suspicious, said Eddie Harris, a Guilford County fire investigator. The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
