GREENSBORO — Two people on Greensboro's most wanted fugitives list have been found.
Greensboro police said Randy Melvin Farmer, 59, was arrested Tuesday in High Point. Police also said George Thomas Humphrey, 32, turned himself in to the Guilford County jail Tuesday.
Farmer, of 305 W. Lee St., Greensboro, has been charged with 48 charges of uttering forged checks and securities and one count of misdemeanor failure to appear. He is being held in the Guilford County jail on a $2,500 bond. Police said forged checks totaling $15,000 had belonged to his elderly mother.
Humphrey, 32, of 2104 Joe Louis Ave., Greensboro, is free on a $10,000 bond. He faces four charges: felony identification theft, felony failure to appear, misdemeanor unlawful possession of a fictitious driver's license and misdemeanor unlawful display of a fictitious driver's license.
Also Tuesday, Greensboro police took Hassoumi S. Hassoumiou off its most wanted list after being contacted by his probation and parole officer.
Hassoumiou, 34, has been in the Eastern Correctional Institution in Maury, near Goldsboro, since October, according to the N.C. Department of Correction Web site.
The site shows that Hassoumiou was convicted in April on two counts of felony possession with intent to sell and received probation and a suspended sentence. He was imprisoned after being arrested in Greensboro on Sept. 12 and charged with possession of cocaine. Police said he missed a scheduled court date in December.
