GREENSBORO -- Amber Bland finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead host N.C. A&T to a 93-58 victory over Howard in an MEAC game Saturday at the Corbett Sports Center.
Sophomore point guard Ta'Wuana "Tweet" Cook had 22 points and five assists -- her third game in a row with at least 20 points -- and Brittanie Taylor-James scored 19 points on 9-for-13 shooting.
The MEAC-leading Aggies (14-5, 7-0) honored former player Halima Cotwright (1995-'98) and former team manager Yolanda Bennett, who both died recently.
Several former A&T players attended the game.
"It was great to see the past Lady Aggies come back,'' A&T coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs said. "They are true pioneers of the program ... They talked to the ladies before the game, and the things they said were truly inspirational. When the past comes back like that, you really want to show them the program is in good shape."
