(Updated Monday, June 9 - 12:01 am)

Sculptor Jim Barnhill, an associate professor of art at N.C. A&T, inspects the sword handle and hand of the new statue of Greene. The statue is nearing completion of the bronzing process. It will soon be assembled for its unveiling March 26 at the roundabout at Greene and McGee streets in Greensboro.

Worker Dennis Carneval at Carolina Bronze Sculpture Foundry carries a section of a statue of Revolutionary War hero Gen. Nathanael Greene for bronzing at the shop outside Asheboro. The statute will stand 111/2 feet tall.
