GREENSBORO -- Amber Bland scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and N.C. A&T got 43 points from its bench as the Aggies beat Morgan State 97-78 Saturday at the Corbett Center.

The reserves starred for A&T (8-5, 2-0 MEAC). Brittanie Taylor-James scored 19 points, and senior Nancy Rembert scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting.

"With the kind of up-tempo game Morgan likes to play we really needed those ladies to step up, and they did an excellent job,'' A&T coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs said. "We had 10 days off so I knew we would get winded early playing that style of basketball."
