GREENSBORO - Ben Brown accepted a job as deputy county manager for Guilford County, according to a release today from Guilford County.
He'll leave his job as assistant city manager in Greensboro to start with the county on Feb. 1.
Brown, 67, came to Greensboro as assistant city manager for economic development in 2002 from Fayetteville. His salary with the city is $133,957. Brown will make $150,000 per year with Guilford County.
"I hope my experience with other governmental positions in several other jurisdictions will help me bring a positive energy to the table," Brown said in the release.
Brown was selected for the position from 86 applicants.
