Fans' Forum: Appalachian deserved better coverage

I am writing to express my sincere disgust with your decision to copy/paste/print the same Associated Press drivel that everyone else in the country saw when Appalachian State made history and won its third consecutive national title. If I wanted to read that article, I could have seen it on ESPN.com 10 minutes after the game.

Chattanooga is 400 miles from Greensboro and you seriously could not spare anyone to cover such a historic event? If Duke had been playing in the NCAA title basketball game, I'm sure you could manage to send them to Siberia if necessary. And thank God we don't have to worry about N.C. State playing for a title in anything anytime soon or one of your staff writers would be there faster than Dexter Jackson can run the 40-yard dash.

It isn't like you have a shortage of writers, either. Right next to the large image of Devon Moore, there's a staff-written article about the -- get this -- NCAA men's soccer game between Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. Honestly, soccer? Get your heads in the game. No one cares about any form of soccer. People are more interested in reading about what someone local has to say about sporting events of significant local importance, such as ASU becoming the first team in FCS history to win three consecutive titles.

There was no shortage of stories coming into this game, either. You just prefer substandard reporting and would rather give your respect to the garbage football schools of this state. Accept it: ASU is the best football team in North Carolina. Now treat us like it.

P.S. Two hundred words were not enough to describe how lame that AP article was.
