GREENSBORO — U.S. Rep. Howard Coble said Tuesday that he will donate the money he made during the recent federal government shutdown to seven area charities.

“I had asked that my pay be withheld until the stalemate was resolved, and at the time I also announced that once I received my pay, I would donate whatever I earned during the shutdown to charity, no matter how long that was,” Coble said.
