Council’s leadership deserves our praise

Kudos to Greensboro’s mayor and City Council.
-- attended their meeting on Feb. 7 and I am grateful to our mayor and City Council for:
-- The respect and decorum in the council hall and among themselves.
-- Taking the time (and it was a long time) to listen to the citizens of Greensboro.
-- Exerting courageous leadership in taking a stand against the proposed constitutional amendment on marriage and standing for equality of all citizens.
While council members did not agree, each stated his or her position openly and without disparaging others.
This kind of leadership in our city will move us forward in a just way.
