ASHEVILLE (AP) — Two sections of the historic Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina will be closed for about two months while crews repair a pair of tunnels.
The National Park Service said the closures will start Monday and will last until April 15.
The section of the parkway between Milepost 393.8 and Milepost 405 is being closed for repairs to Ferrin Knob Tunnel No. 1. A section of the road between Milepost 443 and the end of the parkway at U.S. 441 in Cherokee will also close until April 15 for repairs on the Big Witch Tunnel.
The park service says there will not be a planned detour, so drivers should plan ahead.
