Report: WGHP meteorologist Emily Byrd seriously injured in fall

Emily Byrd, a meteorologist at WGHP (Fox, Channel 8), was seriously injured in a fall Monday, according to a story posted on the TV station's website.

"Emily was out shopping on Monday when she fell, hitting her head and breaking several bones," the station reports. "She is doing 'much better' today and wants to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers."

Byrd is expected to be out of work for several weeks while she recovers but is expected to return to the station.
