GREENSBORO - Conservatives for Guilford County, a tea party-affiliated political action committee, will hold a press conference Wednesday on an ongoing free speech conflict with the Guilford County Board of Commissioners.
At the conference, the group will address the constitutionality of a ban on multimedia presentations during public comments at commissioners meetings.
The N.C. ACLU called the ban a violation of First Amendament rights to free speech in a letter to the county last week.
Katy Parker, the group's legal director, said the ACLU hasn't decided whether go to court over the ban.
"There are a lot of steps between here and litigation," Parker said. "We're hoping they will just abandon this ban and it won't be an issue."
The press conference will be held at 1 p.m. in the first-floor Blue Room at the Old County Courthouse, 301 W. Market St.
