Elon gets win at Western Carolina

ELON 71, WESTERN CAROLINA 63: Jack Isenbarger scored a season-high 26 points, hitting five 3-pointers, as Elon defeated Western Carolina on Thursday night.

The Phoenix (10-9, 5-3), who snapped a three-game losing streak in the series, took their first lead at 25-22 with 4:26 to go in the first half and led 29-26 at the break.

The Catamounts (9-12, 3-5) stayed within five points in the second half until Elon, leading 42-41 with 10:16 left, used a 7-0 run to pull away.

Jaron Lane had 19, Matt Dickey 14, Quinard Jackson 12 and Chris Stephenson 10 for UNC-Asheville.

Primm, who finished with a season-high five steals, moved into first place on UNC-Asheville's career steals list.

The Bulldogs (15-7, 10-1 Big South) shot 52.8 percent (28 of 53) overall. Xavier Martin scored 14 for High Point (7-13, 3-7).

DAVIDSON 64, CHATTANOOGA 63: JP Kuhlman scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half and Nik Cochran hit the winning free throw with 1 second remaining as Davidson got its eighth consecutive victory.

The Wildcats (15-4) remained undefeated in the Southern Conference at 9-0.

GARDNER-WEBB 78, CAMPBELL 72: Jason Dawson scored a career-high 19 points as Gardner-Webb snapped the Camels' four-game winning streak.

Tashan Newsome finished with 15 points, Max Landis 13 and Stefon Johnson had 12 points and nine rebounds for Gardner-Webb.

NO. 19 VIRGINIA 66, BOSTON COLLEGE 49: Mike Scott scored 18 points and No. 19 Virginia pulled away from a 44-all tie with a 22-3 run and beat Boston College. The victory was just the second in the last seven games against the Eagles for the Cavaliers (16-3, 3-2 ACC). Ryan Anderson had 12 points for Boston College (7-13, 2-4).

WOMEN

NO. 10 MIAMI 64, WAKE FOREST 39: Stefanie Yderstrom and Riquna Williams scored 14 points each to lead Miami to a rout.

VIRGINIA TECH 75, NO. 8 MARYLAND 69: Monet Tellier tied a career high with 31 points and fueled a late charge that carried Virginia Tech to a stunning upset.

TOP 25: Brittney Griner had 18 points and seven blocks, Odyssey Sims and Terran Condrey scored 14 points apiece and top-ranked Baylor ran away in the second half to beat Oklahoma 89-58 ... A'dia Mathies scored 20 points and No. 6 Kentucky forced 30 turnovers in a 66-48 victory over Auburn. ... Shekinna Stricklen scored 14 points and Glory Johnson added 13 to lead No. 7 Tennessee to an 86-56 win over Alabama. ...
