GREENSBORO (AP) — Derrell Armstrong scored 29 points, including knocking down 5 of 8 from long range, to pace UNCG to an 81-72 victory over Chattanooga on Thursday night for the Spartans' season-high third straight win.

Kyle Randall added 15 points, Aaron Brackett grabbed 11 boards and David Williams scored 10 points for the Spartans (5-14, 3-4 Southern Conference).

The Spartans looked to have the game in control at halftime with a 37-31 margin, but the Mocs fought back in the second half to take a 50-48 lead with 12:02 to play. But Trevis Simpson and Korey Van Dussen hit back-to-back 3-pointers to help fuel a 10-2 run, and UNCG never looked back.

The Spartans edged the Mocs by a 44-41 scoring margin in the second to seal it.
