GREENSBORO — A long-awaited downtown redevelopment may soon begin.
Wednesday the Redevelopment Commission of Greensboro chose South Elm Development Group LLC to develop seven acres south of Lee Street.
The company is a partnership that includes Robert Isner, a key developer of downtown’s Southside neighborhood, and Bob Chapman, who’s Durham-based TND Partners will also be responsible for a city redevelopment project on Martin Luther King Drive.
The city staff will spend the next few weeks negotiating a development agreement with the company. That agreement may go back to the redevelopment commission for final approval as soon as February.
The City Council must sign off on the agreement to make it official.
