BURLINGTON — The man wanted for his alleged role in a shooting and chase that started in the parking lot of Family Fare on Maple Avenue on Tuesday night turned himself in to police Friday afternoon.
Torry Rogers, 21, of Webster Road, Graham, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in the city limits. He was held in Alamance County jail under $1,200 bond, according to a Burlington Police Department news release.
Police have been looking for Rogers since Tuesday night after officers received a report that there were multiple shots fired in the parking lot of Family Fare at 2227 Maple Ave. at about 8 p.m. The person who reported it to police told authorities he was being chased by two people in an older model Buick.
The alleged victim was acquainted with the people chasing him, and he was not injured.
Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver, Marcus Breeze, 22, and charged him with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and possession of nontax-paid alcohol. He was held in jail under $30,000 bond.
During the investigation, Rogers developed into a second suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest.
