GREENSBORO — Sales on artwork, shoes, evening dresses and underwear are some of the highlights of this week’s column.
Shopping for some workout equipment? I’ve got some advice on that, too.
Brand-name shoes, including Dansko, Wolky, Geox and Everybody, are 20 to 50 percent off during a semi-annual sale at Lillo Bella (507 State St., Greensboro; 275-7645).
Sale ends Jan. 19.
Splurges boutique store is having an art sale this month.
All in-stock art featuring Bill Coyne will be 50 percent off at both store locations through Jan. 31.
You can also get a free gift if you spend at least $25 from Jan. 19 to Jan. 31.
The Greensboro store is at the Jefferson Village Shopping Center (1564-B Highwoods Blvd.; 605-3000).
The Kernersville store is at 210 N. Main St., Suite 130 (310-4571).
Also get 50 percent off select artwork and 20 percent off one item.

Lane Bryant is having its semi-annual sale on Cacique apparel through Jan. 16.
Buy two Cacique bras, get two for free. Buy five Cacique panties for $25.
In the Triad, Lane Bryant is at The Shops at Friendly Center and Four Seasons Town Centre .
All clearance items are 50 percent off through Jan. 17 at Rue21.
The national fashion retailer opened a store at Four Seasons Town Centre in May.
It also has a store in the Jefferson Village shopping center near Target.
Main Street Closeouts (322-A Edwardia Drive; (910) 206-2020) is now selling evening and prom dresses from New York.
The store has about 75 in stock for $29 each.
Main Street Closeouts sells designer women’s clothes inside a 6,000-square-foot warehouse.

Fall and winter merchandise is 40 percent off at Simply Meg’s (3334 W. Friendly Ave.; 272-2555).
The fashion store is at The Shops at Friendly Center.
You’re shopping for some workout equipment but worry it will eventually be used as a clothes hanger.
The results of a Consumer Reports survey might surprise you.
“Our survey of readers who owned a treadmill or elliptical exerciser found that about 60 percent of the machines were used at least as much as their owners had expected,” the magazine reports in its February issue.
Now, what to get.
If money’s no object, the magazine recommends a Precor nonfolding treadmill that costs $4,000.
A top-scoring elliptical from Octane Fitness costs $3,100.
If you’re looking to tighten your financial belt, you can get something decent for less than a third of those prices.
One example is a NordicTrack for $1,000, which scored comparably to the top-rated Precor in several categories, according to Consumer Reports.
