Authorities in Davidson County are investigating a series of shootings this week they say they believe are related.
Two men were shot Thursday morning as they lay in bed inside a home on Curtis Drive, located right outside of Lexington. According to Davidson County sheriff's deputies, the shooting happened after 6 a.m., stemming from an altercation between three people.
According to deputies, the injuries to the victims were not considered life-threatening. One victim was shot in the buttocks and leg while the other was shot in the torso. Both are being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Investigators believe the shooting could be related to a Wednesday night shooting outside an apartment on Holt Street in Lexington.
That shooting happened about 7:10 p.m. Lexington police said the victim, Howard Ellis, 46, of High Point, was shot in the stomach. He is listed in critical condition at Wake.
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call Crimestoppers at (336) 243-2400.
