VCU senior Burgess set for homecoming at coliseum
Bradford Burgess is Virginia Commonwealth’s only senior this season, the basketball team’s top scorer and a Final Four veteran who leads the Rams into the Greensboro Coliseum tonight against UNCG.
But first, Burgess plans to lead the Rams to Yum Yum for the hot dogs and ice cream he grew up eating during six-week summer visits with his grandparents.
Burgess’ mother, Myla Young Burgess , grew up in Greensboro and the family maintained its Gate City connection.
“Bradford and his brother, Jordan, spent every summer in Greensboro with their 'Grands,’” Myla Burgess said. “That’s what they called my parents: 'The Grands.’ Those boys loved going to Greensboro.”
