The Memphis Grizzlies have tendered an offer sheet to restricted free-agent forward Dante Cunningham, the NBA team announced Tuesday, giving the Charlotte Bobcats three days to match the offer.
The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 22 games for the Bobcats last season after a Feb. 24 trade from Portland.
ROSE TO STAY WITH BULLS: The Chicago Tribune is reporting that reigning MVP Derrick Rose has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Chicago Bulls worth approximately $94 million. The Tribune cited anonymous sources in its report, which also said the new deal will start with the 2012-13 season, when Rose is eligible to make about $16 million. Rose went from Rookie of the Year to MVP in his first three seasons, becoming the youngest player to win MVP.
