— Soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg recently got some comic relief, thanks to a Greensboro store.

Acme Comics and its customers donated 6,000 comic books to the troops. Customers donated about a third of them.

Acme manager Jermaine Exum and assistant manager Stephen Mayer delivered the comics Monday. The USO will distribute them as part of a holiday event for single soldiers living on the Army base.

"We have a few customers in the military, and they've told us having comics around is like having a piece of home around," Exum said in a news release. "So if this can bring a little holiday cheer to our men and women serving at Fort Bragg, then we're honored to do it."

Visit acmecomics.com or contact the store at 574-2263 or acmelwn@bellsouth.net for more information.
