It's going to be another long year with the idiot Mike Dement Coaching this team. How is this guy still employed?

I agree completely. If UNCG is to compete at the Division I level, we must realize that winning does matter. I feel sorry for the players, who are obviously a talented group of young men. They need to have a coach who can develop their talents and bring some pride to the university, our students and our alumni. I have supported the Spartan athletic program financially for over 20 years now, but that support will come to an end at the conclusion of this school year if something isn't done to remedy the situation we find ourselves in currently.

When is his contract up? Can't believe he is still in Greensboro.

Isn't that funny. We feel the same way about our coach. How does someone that has a 30% win record, never had a season above .500 get a contract extension. Sounds like both schools need to look at what winning means, and define competitiveness on the division 1 level. Neither of us are meeting those standards.

I thought the Coliseum was UNCG's home floor. Why are they wearing the dark blue jerseys?

Congrats to A&T! Out hustled, executed better and totally out played UNCG. Kim Record, please don't schedule Guilford.

UNCG made the decision a few years ago that they didn't care about winning when they moved to the coliseum. Although small the on campus facility was a great home court advantage. They also decided to schedule ACC games as a short cut to get higher level recruits- that math simply doesn't add up. If they wanted to win, they should have stayed at "home" (the fact that last night's game was an away game for UNCG is just embarrassing), scheduled a practical/reasonable schedule, won games and built momentum. This was the formula that worked for Dement the first time and McCaffery when he was here- these are issues that are out of a coach's control. In fact the former AD resigned because he saw this coming and simply didn't want anything to do with it. In reality, UNCG is 2-1 in winnable games this year.

The News and Record could not send a reporter to the game? They had to use an AP article. A&T and UNCG are Division I programs! I know this is ACC country but we have to cover and respect our own programs.

The citizens of Greensboro also need to support this game as well. The attendance could have been 15,000 to 20,000.

Staff writer Jeff Mills was at the game. His story is in Tuesday's print edition and in the e-edition.

Not everything ports over from print. His story didn't.

Dement is an absolute basketball fool. Seven years at UNCG and he can't even compete with the team down the street. I was at the game and was embarrassed. That team is lost and the fans are disgusted. Time to get with it and hire a new basketball coach before this program disintegrates. DEMENT IS A DOPE AND MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the comment that UNCG is 2-1 in winnable games. North Carolina A and T is not a winnable game for a mid-major? Hilarious! The Dement supporters are humorous ... and they care nothing about UNCG, just keeping that numbskull employed. DEMENT MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A&T is the 1 in the 2-1 record. Dement isn't a dope- he won here when it was nothing and won at SMU when it was nothing and won here again when he first got here. When the move to the coliseum happened the game changed- he wasn't the right man for that job- frankly not sure who would be at that salary though....
