GREENSBORO -- A fifth victim of Sunday's shooting spree, 15-year-old Makayla Leigh Woods, died Wednesday afternoon.
Woods was a sophomore at Southeast Guilford High School.
Meanwhile, authorities seized guns and ammunition from Randy Lamb's home Tuesday as they investigated allegations that he was responsible for some of the shootings Sunday that injured Lamb and left four people dead and two critically injured.
On Wednesday, Col. Randy Powers of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office said people have claimed Lamb was responsible for some of the shootings. Investigators don't think that's the case, Powers said, and believe that Lamb's former girlfriend, Mary Ann Holder, acted alone.
However, Powers said the department is trying to eliminate all other people and possibilities.
The department will use forensic tests on the weapons and DNA tests to confirm investigators' theory that Holder was the lone shooter, Powers said.
"At this time, he's not a suspect," Powers said Wednesday afternoon of Lamb. "We're just not leaving any stones unturned."
According to a search warrant, deputies took three guns, ammunition and electronic equipment in the course of a two-day search of Lamb's home at 5801 Harvest Springs Drive.
On Sunday morning, Holder shot Lamb in the elbow and shoulder in the parking lot of GTCC's aviation center on Regional Road, according to the sheriff's office. Holder was Lamb's former girlfriend.
Before killing herself in her black Ford Explorer on Remora Road, Holder also fatally shot:
Holder also shot her nephew, Ricky Suttles, 17, at the Cocoa Drive home. He was in critical condition Wednesday.
The four children shot at the Cocoa Drive home appear to have been shot in the head while they were asleep in different rooms, said Powers said.
No funeral arrangements have been set, yet.
Michael Barrett, the pastor at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, said the last he heard from Robert “Rocky” Smith, Dylan and Zack’s father, is that Holder, her sons and her niece would be memorialized in a joint visitation and funeral.
The church had been working with the Guilford County Schools system and the families to host counseling sessions, prayer meetings and candlelight vigils on Monday and Tuesday. They will not hold a gathering Wednesday to give the families some downtime, Barrett said.
After receiving interest from the public, the church began accepting online donations Wednesday for the Holder, Smith and Suttles families. People can donate at www.pgbc.com.
Authorities believe Holder and Lamb, who had been having an affair for about four years, met Saturday at the Walmart on Elmsley Drive in Greensboro. She gave him a check made out to Lamb's wife, Jennifer Swann Lamb, for $10,000, the document said.
Jennifer Lamb said she initiated a civil lawsuit against Holder for alienation of affection, according to the document. The sheriff's office said the lawsuit never reached the court system. The check could have been an out-of-court settlement, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office said Randy Lamb and Holder must have communicated to arrange the meeting. Authorities seized a slew of electronic equipment from Lamb's home on Sunday. Powers said officials will check for emails, voice and text messages to see if anyone involved made threats.
Powers said investigators are looking at every facet of the case to determine if any other crimes were committed, including the $10,000 check Holder gave Randy Lamb the day before the shootings.
"We intend to leave nothing uncovered," Powers said.
According to the search warrant, Lamb said in an interview at the hospital that he had a handgun when he was shot. It's not known whether he displayed or fired the weapon during the confrontation with Holder, according to the warrant.
The warrant says while searching for electronics, officers saw several other handguns inside a gun safe in the bedroom of residence. They include:
• A Smith & Wesson M&P pistol in holster with holster and loaded magazine containing bullets.
• A Bersa semi-automatic pistol, .83-caliber, with loaded magazine and holster.
• A Smith & Wesson gun case containing grips and one magazine with instruction book.
Authorities also found ammunition, including bullets and magazines.
Officers also took several cameras, laptops and MP3 players. They also found a wooden box with marijuana residue in Lamb's master bedroom.
According to the search warrant , the document also said Randy Lamb had moved from the house to the garage during his affair with Holder. Jennifer Lamb said she and her husband were reconciling, and Randy Lamb ended his relationship with Holder in the recent past.
Additional court filings helped reveal the complicated relationship between Holder and the Lambs.
In February, Jennifer Lamb filed a temporary restraining order against Holder, saying Holder had thwarted the Lambs' attempts to reconcile by repeatedly calling, emailing and texting. Officials dismissed the case because neither woman appeared for a court hearing in late February.
In July, Holder obtained a temporary restraining order against Randy and Jennifer Lamb. Holder said Jennifer Lamb made numerous phone calls to her. Holder's restraining order against the Lambs expired July 11.
