EDEN — Thanksgiving will be especially interesting at the homes of certain Leaksville-Spray kindergarten students if their parents follow the kids’ instructions for preparing the meal.

Teacher Carol Underwood asked her students what their favorite Thanksgiving foods were and how they were prepared.

The children dictated their replies to Underwood, and she wrote exactly what they said.

“We read a book about being thankful and then children shared ideas in small groups,” she said.

Here are some of their responses:

“I like to eat turkey. My mom buys a turkey at Walmart. She puts it in the oven. It cooks for 15 minutes. Dinner gets done. Then you chew it. The turkey is good.” — Travis Fay
