HENDERSONVILLE — Authorities say a newborn baby was found dead in a bathroom stall at a Hendersonville grocery store.
An employee at a Bi-Lo called police about 9 p.m. Sunday saying the infant was found wrapped in a blanket in the women’s bathroom.
Police say the baby girl appeared to be only a day or two old, and the blanket the child was wrapped in had words in Spanish that mean “my baptism.”
Investigators are reviewing surveillance tapes to see if they can find who brought the child into the store.
An autopsy has been ordered on the baby, and authorities hope to get the results as early as today.
