Wyndham leader after third round is Webb Simpson
Webb Simpson of Raleigh is in sole possession of first place at the Wyndham Championship after the third round of play. He is 15 shots under par and two ahead of Tommy Gainey at 13 under par.
Carl Pettersson, the Swedish Whirlie who won a high school state championship once upon a time at Grimsley, wrapped up his round with 63. John Mallinger is tied with Pettersson at 12-under par, and rookie Daniel Summerhays finished fifth on the day at 11-under par.
The championship round begins Sunday at 8 a.m.
