High Point University is putting up more fences after gaining approval from the High Point City Council Monday night to allow fenced-in vacant lots.
The university wants to create an aesthetically pleasing corridor down North College Drive from Montlieu Avenue along the university’s currently vacant properties and areas on Montlieu Avenue.
The amendment approved Monday night allows universities to erect non-opaque fences of up to eight feet on vacant properties beside or within 350 feet of a university.
