RALEIGH (MCT) — It'll be a country showdown tonight as Garner's Scotty McCreery sings for viewer votes for the last time on "American Idol."

The 17-year-old with the deep voice, whose country crooning has taken him all the way to the "Idol" finals, will square off against 16-year-old Lauren Alaina Suddeth of Rossville, Ga. (She has gone by the name Lauren Alaina on the show.)

Alaina also made her mark singing country music this season.

Tonight's show: McCreery and Alaina will each sing three songs — one selected by "Idol" producers, one that would be each singer's first single and one that is a reprise of their favorite performance from earlier this season.

What Scotty will sing: He has several memorable performances to choose from — covers of Josh Turner's "Your Man" and "Long Black Train," his tribute to Elvis on "That's All Right, Mama," the rollicking "Gone," the quiet "Letters From Home," and the radio-friendly "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not." Two he likely won't repeat: "Swingin'," which got generally low marks, and "I Hope You Dance," in which McCreery famously forgot the lyrics.

Tonight's show: 8-9 p.m. on WGHP (Fox, Channel 8). Voting opens immediately afterward by phone, text and Facebook.

And the winner is: "Idol" will announce the winner at the end of a live Wednesday show that starts at 8 p.m. and likely won't end until 10:15 or so. The RBC Center in Raleigh will host a Wednesday viewing party. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free, but parking is $10.
