GREENSBORO — Police have recovered the car of a missing teen in the lake at Country Park.
The body found inside the car is that of 18-year-old David Brooks Ferrell Jr., said the family's pastor, Charles M. Zimmerman.
Police responded to calls at 3:18 p.m. of a car in the lake at 3905 Nathanael Green Drive. Underwater recovery units from the Greensboro Police Department and a tow truck company pulled the car out of the lake.
Greg Yarborough, a park ranger for the city of Greensboro, said he and his partner were patrolling the park when they saw what looked to be a vehicle in the lake. They took a paddle boat out and saw it.
Yarborough said it looked like a person was inside the vehicle, which he described as a white Mitsubishi, the same type of vehicle belonging to Ferrell, who was reported missing Wednesday by his family.
