George and Joyce Brumback, owners of Primrose School of Brassfield and Primrose School of New Irving Park, believe in active minds, healthy bodies and happy hearts — not only for the children they serve, but their families as well.
The school is encouraging Primrose families to participate in the nationwide Family Dance-Off competition sponsored by their corporate office and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The campaign’s goal is to promote physical activity as part of a healthy family routine. Through March 19, Primrose families can upload their 30-second dance videos to compete to win $5,000 for themselves and a $30,000 donation to Moses Cone Hospital.
Other families may enter the contest, too. Supporters can view and vote for their favorite video up to five times a day. To vote, visit familydanceoff.com. Winners will be announced March 28.
Joyce Brumback said she also likes that the contest teaches families the importance of giving back to their communities.
“Moses Cone is our local, community hospital, many of our babies are born at Women’s Hospital, and they have a great pediatric department at Cone,” Brumback said. “Hopefully, if one of our families wins and Cone receives the $30,000 donation, it will enable them to perhaps buy a much-needed piece of equipment or hire an additional person in the pediatric unit.”
