A Reidsville native, Janet Paschal, has been nominated for the Gospel Music Association 2011 Dove Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Paschal is a singer, songwriter, author and talk show host.
The 42nd annual Dove Awards will be held April 20 at the Fox Theatre’s Grand Salon in Atlanta.
In addition to her concert touring schedule, Paschal also hosts her own weekly radio program, “Walking the Good Road.” She lives in Burlington.

N.C. Farm Bureau agents Anthony Rhodes and Mike Stultz of the Holt Agency have been named Master Agents.
The Master Agent program is designed to recognize superior overall performance of agents. Performance is based on production, attitude, loss r atio, field underwriting, persistency and cooperation with all departments.

Mary Alice McMillan of Rockingham County was named first finalist in the 2011 North Carolina Junior Miss Scholarship Program and received a $5,000 scholarship.
She also received preliminary awards in scholastics, talent and judges’ interview.
The event was Feb. 18-19 at Greensboro’s War Memorial Auditorium.

CSSA Joshua Hamilton, a 2008 graduate of Reidsville High School, returned Feb. 6 from deployment on the USS Laboon with the US Navy.
The Laboon was part of NATO operations off the coast of Africa. Hamilton will be stationed at Naval Station Norfolk.
