SEDALIA — Sedalia could decide to designate manufactured-home districts as early as Feb. 28.
After more than an hour spent on a public hearing during the planning board meeting Thursday, the board decided not to make a recommendation to the council but to hear more from the residents.
“The decision tonight is that there’s going to be another hearing,” board chairman Robert Jones said.
In the Feb. 7 council meeting, Mayor Howard J. Morgan presented information on amending the town’s land-use plan so that manufactured housing can be allowed in three overlay districts. The districts are located on Palmer Farm Road, Burlington Road and Simmons Lake Drive.
During the public hearing, residents and property owners expressed confusion about the locations of the overlay districts.
County planner Randy Stanley will be at the town hall from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday to answer property owners’ questions.
