Amanda Dobbs, who finished sixth in the 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, has withdrawn from this week’s competition in Greensboro because of injury.
Felicia Zhang and Taylor Toth, the 2010 U.S. Junior pairs champions, have withdrawn from the Senior pairs competition because of injury.
And Kiri Baga, the 2009 U.S. Novice champion, has withdrawn from the Senior women’s competition because of left Achilles tendinopathy.
Dobbs, 17, of Mission Viejo, Calif., announced on her web site that she was injured on a fall.
“I took a weird fall on a jump last week and hurt my ankle ... and while it will heal up just fine ... it will not do so in time for me to be ready to compete,” she wrote on AmandaDobbs.com.
Zhang is suffering from bruised ribs, which prevent her from performing many of the required elements for pairs, according to a news release from U.S. Figure Skating.
Zhang still plans to compete in the Senior women’s competition. She placed sixth in Junior women at the 2010 U.S. Championships.
