WINSTON-SALEM — A Lexington man was charged Friday with hitting a 17-year-old boy with his car and killing him.
Police say Omar Joseph Scott, 27, of 149 Domino Drive in Lexington, struck Stefan Jalen Fairfax while he was waiting for a bus on the 5100 block of North Cherry Street last month.
Scott's 2008 Jeep Patriot ran off the road and hit Fairfax. Fairfax was transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Scott was charged with felony hit and run involving serious injury and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He is in Forsyth County jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
