GREENSBORO — A Trinity man was sentenced to four years in prison on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to possessing child pornography.
Joseph James Ptacin Jr., 63, will be on 20 years of supervised release after the prison sentence, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Ripley Rand.
Ptacin was arrested in 2009 after investigators with the Randolph and Guilford sheriff's offices searched his Miller's Mill Road home. Ptacin had more than 74 movies and 9 images depicting children, according to the news release.
The Piedmont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the case with help from the State Bureau of Investigation's Crimes Against Children Task Force.
