Guilford County's Most Wanted

Jose Torres, 38, is wanted by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office on charges of felony larceny and conspiracy.

Deputies say Torres and Andres Leal are suspects in the early October theft of two trailers from 4521 S. Holden Road. The trailers contained boxes of Polo-brand clothing valued at more than $3 million.

The trailers and much of the clothing has been recovered in the past week. Leal was arrested, but Torres remains at large.

He is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address is 2711 Four Seasons Blvd., Apt. B, in Greensboro.

He also goes by the alias Jerry Louis Cartagena.

Gregory Batiste, 46, is wanted by Greensboro police on charges of assault, kidnapping, breaking and entering, and communicating threats.

Officers say that on Oct. 10, Batiste struck a woman in the face and choked her at an address on Hayden Street.

Batiste is described as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

He has black hair, brown eyes, a tattoo on his right arm and multiple scars.

Batiste goes by the nicknames “G-Man” and “Panama.” His last known address is 2201 Woodberry Drive in Greensboro.
