GREENSBORO — A Dollar General was robbed early this morning, police said in a news release.
Employees at the store at 3109 Yanceyville St. said someone forced open the front doors after they had closed.
They heard the possible sound of a round being chambered in a handgun, so the employees dropped the cash drawers they were carrying and ran to the rear of the store, police said.
They returned to the front of the store after calling 911 and discovered the cash drawers and bank deposit bag were missing, police said.
A police dog tracked the robber's scent to the parking lot.
Police ask those with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
