PITTSBURGH (AP) — American Eagle Outfitters said Friday that it is voluntarily recalling some of its 77kids toddler girls pants, jeans and shorts, saying the waistband closure can come off and potentially pose a choking hazard.
No injuries have been reported, the retailer said.
American Eagle Outfitters Inc. said the clothing included in the recall has been removed from its five 77kids stores and from its Web site. It advised consumers who already own the items to stop using them immediately and return them for a full refund.
The 1,200 pieces of clothing were sold in stores and online between July 8 and Aug. 30. They included the 3007 cord pant, 3012 boyfriend jean, 3013 colored Bermuda short, 3029 medium vintage flare jean, 3030 doodle flare jean, 3034 rip and repair flare jean and the 3035 denim Bermuda short. The clothing was available in sizes 12 to 18 months, 18 to 24 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years.
American Eagle said those customers it has a record of as buying the items will be contacted directly, with shoppers receiving a full refund and $20 gift cards. Returns can be made by mail and at 77kids by American Eagle stores.
American Eagle has a total of 934 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
