Police: Greensboro store clerk refuses robber's demands for money

GREENSBORO — Someone armed with a handgun entered a store and demanded money but left empty-handed after a clerk refused to give in to his demands, police said today in a news release.

About 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, the would-be robber entered the Lee Mart at 5338 West Market St. and demanded money, according to Greensboro police.

The clerk refused, and the suspect fled. He was last seen running behind Coopers Ale House.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
