MIDWAY -- A Lexington man was charged Saturday with killing a 17-year-old girl hit by a stone thrown through a car window, the sheriff's office said.
Michael John Craver, 21, of 2113 Craver Road, was charged with murder, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office received a call about a teenager who was taken by friends to Lexington Memorial Hospital around 5 p.m. after she was hit with a concrete paving stone.
The office alleges Craver threw the stone through the front passenger side window while the girl was riding in a car on Woodfield Drive off Eller Road in northern Davidson County.
The injuries occurred in front of a home where the woman, her friends and Craver were attending a party.
The girl was transferred to another hospital and pronounced dead around noon.
Craver was being held in the Davidson County jail without bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
The incident was investigation.
The sheriff's office does not plan to release the victim's name until Monday.
