The Piedmont Triad Partnership today named David M. Powell as its new CEO, effective Aug. 23
Powell will succeed Don Kirkman, who will become the group's chief operating officer.
Powell is currently vice president of corporate and government affairs at NetJets Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. He was previously executive vice president of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and executive director of CompeteColumbus, a seven-county regional economic development organization, according to a news release.
“I am very excited to return to North Carolina and to champion the vision of the Piedmont Triad Partnership across the region, state, nation and world,” Powell stated in a new release.
The Piedmont Triad Partnership is the economic development organization representing the 12-county Piedmont Triad region, including Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.
