DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — NASCAR is taking a look at the format of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship format, with chairman Brian France wanting to create more "big-impact moments."

The Chase was one of several topics France covered Friday during a question-and-answer session.

Also under consideration is changes to the second-tier Nationwide Series that could affect the participation of Cup drivers.

France adds that both International Speedway Corp. and Speedway Motorsports Inc. have made scheduling requests for 2011. ISC officials want a second race date at Kansas Speedway, and SMI is believed to have asked for a race at Kentucky Speedway.

The Chase is nothing more then a way to create excitement its not about who is the best driver for the whole season.
Its like the sport has to create excitement for ratings at the cost of who is the most consistent (best) driver through the 36 race season. I hate the Chase
