WINSTON-SALEM — A man who caused a crash last month by driving the wrong way on U.S. 52 had a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit, police said today.
Amick Lee Horn, 28, of Rural Hall and David William Byrd, 62, of Bethania, died in the May 20 crash. Police said Horn was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 52 near Germanton Road when the head-on crash occurred.
Today, police announced that toxicology reports show Horn’s blood alcohol content was a .23. The legal driving limit in North Carolina is .08.
