Winston-Salem woman wins $100K in lottery

Doing some home improvement work is how a Winston-Salem woman plans to spend some of her state lottery winnings.
Veronica Scales won $100,570 playing the "Carolina 5 Cash" game in Saturday's drawing. That's $68,343 after taxes.
Scales told the North Carolina Education Lottery she called a neighborhood friend to double-check the ticket for her.
She bought the ticket at the 3 Corner Food Mart on East 30th Street in Winston-Salem.
The numbers are 13, 26, 17, 20 and 12.
