GREENSBORO — The Mental Health Association in Greensboro will open The Triad Warm Line on Thursday to people who may need assistance coping with mental health conditions.
A phone call to non-crisis support line at 272-2121 will provide the caller with encouragement, reflective insight and referrals to other community resources, according to the MHA in a news release.
The line will be operated by peers who also have a mental health diagnosis and are trained to help others through peer support techniques.
“The Warm Line is another step in bringing the message of recovery and hope to persons with a mental illness and their families,” said Paul Evans, executive director of the Mental Health Association in Greensboro. “The Warm Line, while not a crisis line, will provide the caller with an opportunity to speak to someone who has walked in their shoes: someone who can listen, provide support, and link them to additional resources. Our peer Warm Line operators are truly ‘here to listen and here to help.”
The Triad Warm Line will operate during the following hours: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday; 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Friday; 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday; and 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday.
