WINSTON-SALEM — A Winston-Salem woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Forsyth Superior Court to charges that she stabbed a man to death and hid his body under a bed, where he wouldn't be found for days.

Felicia Renee Glass, 32, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 67-year-old Rubin Flippin of 106 Inverness St. She was initially charged with first-degree murder.

Judge Catherine Eagles sentenced Glass to between 15 years and six months to 19 years and five months in prison.

Flippin was reported missing Sept. 25, 2008, and was found five days later, wrapped in sheets, towels, blankets and garbage bags under one of the beds at his house.

He had been stabbed 14 times in his house, Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Martin said Tuesday in court.

Detective Ron Davis of the Winston-Salem Police Department testified that Glass, who had dated Flippin on and off for years, was questioned about Flippin and gave a statement telling police where to find his body.

Davis said that Glass told police that she had been drinking on Sept. 25 and had gone to bed when Flippin came into her room. They started fighting after he hit her, Glass said.

She told police that she grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Flippin after he reached for what she thought was a gun.

Glass told the court she was sorry.

"I was scared that night," she said, "and I didn't know what to do or how to do it. I want to tell the family I apologize."
